Local & State Support Groups
Christian Association of Parent Educators (CAPE)
The purpose of CAPE is to support and serve homeschooling families in the Yakima area. Their intent and direction are Christian-based; however, they welcome families with other beliefs. They offer monthly meetings, workshop, speakers, curriculum exhibits, field trips, P.E. classes, an annual project fair, a speech and drama festival, a newsletter, and more.
Christian Homeschoolers of South Sound (CHoSS)
This is a group of families involved in home education who have come together to support and encourage one another according to Christian principles and biblical guidelines. They work together to plan and organize group activities and provide a forum for the sharing of ideas, resources, methods, and information relating to home based instruction.
CMers in Kitsap
This group is a networking resource for homeschoolers in the Kitsap County, WA area who are using the Charlotte Mason method.
Family Learning Organization
Family Learning Organization is intended to advocate for home-based education, to facilitate the encouragement of homeschooling families, to help preserve the freedom of parents to educate their children, and to serve as a means of communication and networking. Through the organization, homeschooling families can network with other more experienced parents. They also offer educational assessment and testing services.
Granite Falls Homeschoolers
This is an eclectic group that welcomes all homeschoolers. Offers support and activities for homeschoolers in the Granite Falls area of Washington.
Home School Harmony
Home School Harmony is a group of home school families that have come together with all our talents, knowledge and resources to provide an environment of encouragement and support for one another. They are located in Washington State in Cowlitz county. The areas closest to them are Castle Rock, Longview, Kelso, Kalama, Toutle, Winlock and Lexington.
Life Education Activity Resource Network (LEARN)
LEARN is an inclusive non-profit homeschool support group in the South Puget Sound region of Washington State. While most LEARN members live in Thurston County, they also have members in Pierce, Mason, Grays Harbor, and Lewis Counties. Its purpose is to offer member families quality opportunities to augment their own educational efforts on a cooperative basis. LEARN offers field trips, a newsletter, shared (co-op) activities, mom's meetings, used curriculum sales, and more.
Lower Columbia Connect
This group is primarily a homeschooling group for swing-shift/graveyard parents and children both sides of the Columbia River who home educate in the Lower Columbia Area. They welcome all homeschoolers for homeschooling chat and week discussions. This group is made up of eclectic and relaxed homeschoolers.
Special Homeschoolers of WA (SpecialHSofWA)
Email support group for all families living in Washington state who are homeschooling special needs children or are considering it.
Teaching Parents Association
Teaching Parents Association is a nonprofit association of members who, regardless of race, religious beliefs, or teaching styles, join together to support homeschooling parents, children and community members. They offer parent support meetings, field trips, park days, and clubs for children.
Trestle Homeschool Association’s (THA)
THA is one of the oldest homeschool support groups in the area. It has been around since 1985 and exists to provide support to homeschoolers in the Everett, Washington area and its surrounding communities. Most of the members reside in the Snohomish County area.
Turning Point Community Church Home School Cooperative
Turning Point Ministries Homeschool Co-op exists to partner with parents by providing an alternative atmosphere for Christ-centered growth. Emphasis is placed on developing excellence in character, academics, and relationships.
Washington Home Education Network
The purpose of this group is to help Washington State Homeschoolers (operating under the Home-based Instruction law) keep informed of what's happening around the state and the nation pertaining to homeschooling.
Washington Homeschool Organization (WHO)
The Washington Homeschool Organization (WHO) is the state organization for homeschoolers, families operating under the Home-Based Instruction Law. Their mission is to serve the diverse interests of homeschoolers in Washington State. WHO is nonpartisan, nonsectarian and non discriminating in its views of homeschooling and participation in its activities. Its purpose is to disseminate information about homeschooling to those interested, and network homeschooling families with people and resources. In addition they play an advocacy role for homeschoolers with the state legislature and the public school system.
Washington Natural Learning Association (WNLA)
Washington Natural Learning Association works to ensure the right to home-educate our children without cumbersome regulation. They also help families with questions and problems that may occur when home-educating.
Western Region Unschoolers
The Western Region Unschoolers is a group for unschoolers who live in the Western U.S. covering: Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Idaho, Utah, Arizona, Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, and California. This is a forum to announce and organize conferences, travel, camping, and other places to get together.
WHO for Homeschooling
The Washington Homeschool Organization (WHO) is the state organization for homeschoolers, families operating under the Home-Based Instruction Law. The purpose of this list is to inform and alert. Members are kept abreast of developments, both in the legislature and in the public school system, that affect homeschooling in this state.
Yakima Homeschool Network
The Yakima Homeschool Network connects homeschooling families throughout the Yakima Valley.
