They operate as an alternative school under WAC 392-121-182 Alternative Learning Experience Requirements and are a K-12 program designed to enroll currently homeschooled students in Edmonds School District and outlying areas.

Lewis County Learning Center, is a branch of a state approved private school Academy Northwest/Family Academy.
